Diving Entry Steinschlagtafel

Weyregg am Attersee, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • All weather

Right: individual rocks, tree trunks and branches lie scattered upon the largely muddy subsurface. In the summer, you can encounter a few fish along the plant belt. Left: a far more diverse area is situated on this side. The partially stony, sandy subsurface is scattered with rocks, tree trunks and impressive rootstocks, which are usually thick with mussel-growth. Up to a depth of 10 m, a flowing lawn of candelabra algae covers the ground. After about 10 minutes of diving, you will abruptly encounter the beginnings of the steep face of “Schwarze Brücke” (Black Bridge), which suddenly vertically protrudes from a depth of 20 m to 5 m above the water’s surface. Ideally, you should dive along the steep face towards the top, and then back into the shallow water area.

The description of the diving spot on the information board is only available in German. You can find the English description in the catalog of Attersee Diving (available at the tourist offices in all villages around lake Attersee or online
