Glöckler Parades around Lake Attersee
The Twelth Night is the last of the special nights around Christmas. The Glöckler want to drive out the bad and bring blessing into the village and houses. Not only grown ups but also little boys are proud to be a Glöckler. When the big and small ones come together they make a round dance to present their beautiful hats and ring their bells.
It takes a lot of time, manual skills and patience to make the Glöckler huts. The Glöckler run is exhausting. Along the route the Glöckler get something to trink and eat for example Glöcklerkrapfen - special kind of donouts.
The Glöckler parades and Epiphany are the last of various traditonal Advent and Christmas Events around lake Attersee and in the Salzkammergut region.
